San Angelo livestock auction report


The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported estimated receipts of 582 head Dec. 20, compared to 1,111 head last week, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were firm. Slaughter cows were $2 to $3 higher, slaughter bulls firm in light test. Stock cows and pairs steady. Trading and demand moderate. The supply included 10% slaughter cows, 1% slaughter bulls, 80% feeders, 9% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 50% steers and bulls, 40% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 359 lbs., 219.00; 415 lbs., 190.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 142.00 to 147.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 137.00 to 145.50; 800 to 850 lbs., 141.00 to 146.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 395 lbs., 190.00; 455 lbs., 176.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 150.00 to 151.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 134.00 to 137.50; 700 to 750 lbs., 127.00 to 129.00. Medium and large frame 2, 400 to 500 lbs., 140.00 to 149.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 131.00 to 140.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 127.00 to 131.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 450 to 500 lbs., 154.00156.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 140.00 to 152.00; 700 to 850 lbs., 120.00 to 127.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 162.00 to 167.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 143.00 to 150.00; 500 to 700 lbs., 130.00 to 139.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 111.00 to 119.00. Medium and large frame 2, 250 to 300 lbs., 150.00 to 154.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 134.00 to 141.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 127.00 to 141.00; 500 to 700 lbs., 117.00 to 125.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 103.00 to 108.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1300 to 1800 lbs., 71.00 to 72.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 900 to 1475 lbs., 74.00 to 79.00; high dressing, 80.00 to 84.00; low dressing, 72.00 to 74.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1150 lbs., 68.50 to 74.50; low dressing, 65.00 to 69.00; 85 to 90% lean, 600 to 900 lbs., 62.00 to 66.50.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1, 1600 to 2000 lbs., 93.50; low dressing, 1100 to 1800 lbs., 80.50 to 86.50.

Stock cows and heifers: Pregnancy tested, all sold by the head. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1025.00 to 1275.00. Medium and large frame 2, 850.00 to 1000.00.

Pairs: All sold by the pair. All have 100- to 350-lb. calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1225.00 to 1250.00. Medium and large frame 2, 1150.00 to 1185.00.

Stocker and feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 800 to 1025 lbs., no test; young and middle-aged, 800 to 1150 lbs., no test; middle-aged, 800 to 1300 lbs., 78.00 to 83.50 cwt; thin and or aged, 800 to 1200 lbs., 71.50 to 80.00 cwt.
