Grain market closeThe USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for Dec. 21, reported in futures trading that Chicago March soft red winter wheat was $7.92, up 1 1/2 cents; March corn, $7.02, up 5 1/2 cents; and January soybeans, $14.30 3/4, up 22 cents. The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $9.17 to $9.27, down 1 3/4 cents; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $8.62 to $8.64, up 4 1/2 to 3 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $7.54 to $7.60, up 5 1/2 to 3 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $12.17 3/4 to $12.89 1/4, up 9 3/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, $12.78 1/2 to $12.80 1/4, up 8 to 9 3/4 cents; and No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $15.33 3/4 to $15.35 3/4, up 22 to 12 cents. Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $7.86. In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $7.64 to $8.37. No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, northwest Colorado was mostly 2 cents lower. In north central Colorado, wheat was $7.64 to $8.17. In northeast Colorado, wheat was $7.57 to $7.68. In east central Colorado, wheat was $7.43 to $7.86. In southeast Colorado, wheat was $7.74 to $7.97. In south central Colorado, wheat was $7.06. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $7.67 to $7.77. No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was mostly 5 cents higher and $6.79 to $7.36 per bushel. In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $6.92 to $7.12. In east central Colorado, corn was $6.98 to $7.14. In southeast Colorado, corn was $7.35 to $7.40. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $6.85 to $6.95 per bushel. No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was 9 cents higher at $12.09 to $12.18 per cwt. No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were 22 cents lower at $13.61 to $13.71 per bushel. White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $31 to $37.50 per cwt., mostly $36 to $37.50. Sunflowers were $24 to $26 cwt. In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $6.79 to $7.27 per bushel. Barley was steady at $13. In northeast Colorado and Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $34 to $35 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were $32 to $34. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $30 to $32. Great Northerns were steady at $40 in northeast Colorado and Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $32.
