Missouri Cattlemen announces Friend of the Industry award winners

Missouri

The Missouri Cattlemen's Association announced the 2012-2013 Friend of the Industry award winners at MCA's 45th Annual Convention and Trade Show in Columbia, Mo.

The award is presented to state legislators who have helped the cattle industry during their time in office.

Missouri representatives who received this honor were Tom Loehner, Rodney Schad, Joe Aull, Mike McGhee, Glen Klippenstein, John Cauthorn, and Sens. Rob Mayer and Bill Stouffer.

"It is important to have people in office who will stand up for agriculture," said MCA Executive Vice President Mike Deering. "These folks have ensured that agriculture remains vibrant in Missouri. In order to feed a growing global population, we cannot be stifled by misguided legislation and regulations. We are grateful for the public service provided by these leaders."

Close to 400 cattlemen gathered in Columbia for the 45th annual event.
