KLA recognizes Top Hands

The Nemaha County Kansas Livestock Association Committee was recognized during the KLA Convention as top membership recruiter of the year. Members of the committee recruited 25 new members to earn a $600 John Deere gift certificate and a 20X felt hat from Greeley Hat Works. The Phillips County KLA Committee signed up 10 new members and will receive a $250 certificate to John Deere.

Seven individual members were honored for recruiting five to nine members. Those reaching this level to earn $100 John Deere gift certificates were Brett Brownback, Linn County; Brandon Greenwood, Pottawatomie County; Clyde Parks, Anderson County; Norm Pilger, Wallace County; Mark Smith, Wallace County; Shawn Tiffany, Morris County; and Russ Walker, Wilson County. John Deere is the exclusive sponsor of the KLA Top Hand program.

Winners of the Get a Member in November contest were Brandon Greenwood, Pottawatomie County; Brian Holthaus, Nemaha County; and Sam States, Phillips County. They each will receive a John Deere gift certificate.

Eighty-six KLA members participated in the 2012 Top Hand contest, signing up a total of 180 new members. KLA reached a total of 5,532 members during the convention as a result of these members' efforts.

Nemaha County leads the state in membership with 111 members. Rounding out the top five counties are Pottawatomie with 102 members, Butler at 94 and Finney and Marion with 82 each.
