Corn harvest completeNew Mexico During the week ending Nov. 25, there were 6.9 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, New Mexico Field Office, Nov. 26. Topsoil moisture was 63 percent very short, 26 percent short and 11 percent adequate. Wind damage was 11 percent light. Freeze damage was 58 percent light. No hail damage was reported this week. Alfalfa conditions were mostly good to fair; seventh cutting 86 percent complete. Cotton 75 percent harvested. Corn conditions were mostly fair to good; 100 percent grain harvested. Sorghum conditions were mostly poor to very poor; 92 percent harvested. Winter wheat conditions mostly poor to fair; 99 percent emerged; 26 percent grazed. Peanut 91 percent harvested. Lettuce 92 percent harvested. Chile conditions were mostly good to fair; 72 percent harvested red. Pecan conditions were mostly good. Cattle conditions were mostly very poor to poor.
