Cotton, soybean harvest completeArkansas On average, farmers had 6.2 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending Nov. 25, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, Arkansas Field Office, Nov. 26. Topsoil moisture supplies were 10 percent very short, 33 percent short, 52 percent adequate and 5 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were 18 percent very short, 38 percent short, 39 percent adequate and 5 percent surplus. Low temperatures ranged from 19 F at Gilbert to 32 F at Hot Springs, North Little Rock, and Stuttgart. Highs ranged from 68 F at Mountain Home to 78 F at DeQueen. Cotton and soybeans reached 100 percent harvested. Winter wheat was 98 percent planted and 94 percent emerged. Producers were wrapping up field activities for the season. Livestock were in fair condition. Dry conditions continued to adversely affect pastures throughout the state. Many producers were feeding hay. Date: 12/03/2012
