Wheat, corn have most losses for dayGrains closed mostly lower Dec. 17 with wheat and corn having most losses and soybeans fractionally higher, according to the National Grain Market Summary. Corn traded lower on slow demand and selling interest. Soybeans for January closed near unchanged as lower corn and wheat markets help to keep soybeans in check. Demand continues to be strong for soybeans. Wheat closed lower as forecast for much needed rain is in the forecast for the Southern Plains. Wheat closed 6 to 8 cents lower. Corn traded 6 to 7 cents lower. Soybeans closed mostly unchanged to 1 cent higher with Kansas City soybeans sharply higher on basis change. In the futures close, Kansas City March wheat was $8.56 1/4, down 8 cents. Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $8.11 to $8.16, down 8 cents; Minneapolis, $9.11 1/4, down 6 3/4 cents; Portland, $8.43 to $8.48, down 1 cent; St. Louis, $7.98, down 6 cents. Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $7.56, down 7 cents; Minneapolis, $6.99, down 6 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $7.13 to $7.24, down 6 3/4 cents; Omaha, $7.50 to $7.51, down 7 cents. Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $15.34, up 18 cents; Minneapolis, no bids; southern Iowa, $14.82 1/4 to $14.89 1/4, up 1 1/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $15.11 1/4 to $15.21 1/4, up 1/4 cents. Kansas City wheat prices Dec. 18, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $9.05 1/2 to $9.55 1/2, up 4 1/4 cents; 12% protein, $9.47 1/2 to $9.69 1/2, up 4 1/4 cents; 13% protein, $9.54 1/2 to $9.69 1/2, up 4 1/4 cents; 14% protein, $9.54 1/2 to $9.69 1/2, up 4 1/4 cents.
