Grain market closeThe USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for Dec. 17, reported in futures trading that Chicago March soft red winter wheat was $8.08, down 6 cents; March corn, $7.24, down 6 3/4 cents; and January soybeans, $14.96 1/4, up 1/4 cent. The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $9.31 1/4 to $9.41 1/4, down 8 cents; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $8.73 to $8.78, down 6 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $7.74 to $7.86, down 6 3/4 to 9 3/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $12.57 1/4 to $13.28 1/2, down 12 to 12 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, $13.01 3/4 to $13.19 3/4, down 12 to 22 cents; and No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $16.13 1/4 to $16.14 1/4, up 5 1/4 to 1/4 cents. Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $8.05. In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $7.83 to $8.56. No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, northwest Colorado was mostly 4 to 5 cents lower. In north central Colorado, wheat was $7.83 to $8.35. In northeast Colorado, wheat was $7.76 to $7.85. In east central Colorado, wheat was $7.62 to $8.05. In southeast Colorado, wheat was $7.93 to $8.11. In south central Colorado, wheat was $7.25. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $7.85 to $7.90. No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was mostly 4 cents lower and $6.97 to $7.54 per bushel. In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $7.05 to $7.28. In east central Colorado, corn was $7.16 to $7.32. In southeast Colorado, corn was $7.53 to $7.58. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $7.02 to $7.10 per bushel. No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was 7 cents lower at $12.41 to $12.50 per cwt. No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were 30 cents lower at $13.95 to $13.96 per bushel. White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $31 to $37 per cwt., mostly $36. Sunflowers were $24 to $26 cwt. In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $6.97 to $7.45 per bushel. Barley was steady at $13. In northeast Colorado and Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $34 to $35 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were $32 to $34. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $30 to $32. Great Northerns were steady at $40 in northeast Colorado and Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $32.
