Andy Clay, Jamestown, Mo., was appointed chairman of the Missouri Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee at the organization's 98th annual meeting Dec. 4 at the Lake of the Ozarks. The appointment was made by Blake Hurst, Missouri Farm Bureau president.
Andy is a seventh generation farmer and works full time on the family farm with his father. Together, they have a widely diversified farm, raising soybeans, corn, and cattle. The family also does custom farm work and owns and manages a feed mill/grain elevator. Andy's wife, Kacey, is the owner and operator of a salon and spa. She is also an instructor at Merrell University of Cosmetology in Jefferson City. The Clays are active members of the Moniteau County Farm Bureau where Andy serves as the Young Farmers and Ranchers chairman. They have three children, Hudson, Hayden and Hadley.
The Missouri Farm Bureau YF&R Committee consists of 16 couples from eight districts. The group plans and directs the statewide YF&R Leadership Conference each February. As chairman of the committee, Andy also serves as an advisory member on the Missouri Farm Bureau Board of Directors.
