Twins 'cowgirl up' in new children's book

Hereford breeders Sheridan and Rianna Chaney are proud to bring you the fourth book in "The Chaney Twins' Ag Series." This book, "Cowgirl Up! Let's Go Ranching" follows the girls' experiences with ranch life up close and personal with Libbi, Landri and Lindsi Loos on their ranch in America's heartland. The girls' adventures with beef, pigs, goats, horses, and even Tobey the mule will keep young readers engaged and smiling. The 8-year-old girls sat down and helped their mom write the text.

All four books are 32 pages and are full of captivating and fun color photographs by professional photographer and the books' co-creator Kelly Hahn Johnson of Sharpsburg, Md. The easy-to-read text geared toward preschool and elementary-aged children has been selected by numerous Farm Bureau groups, Ag in the Classroom programs and county and state cattle women's organizations across the country as their "Accurate Ag Book." Most recently, "Star Becomes A Mother," the third book in the series, was selected as the 2012 Wyoming Ag Book of the Year. The Alabama Cattlemen's Association also used the same book as their ag educational book for October Beef Month, and the North Dakota Cattlewomen used the books at their "Beefin' It Up 5k run in October. "Cowgirl Up" is also nominated for the 2012 Nebraska Ag Book of the Year. And Book 2, "Mini Milk Maids on the Mooove," was just selected as the New Hampshire Ag Book of the Year.

All four books and lesson plans have been added to the USDA National Resource Directory for Agriculture in the Classroom. Lessons plans are available in free downloadable form at www.pabeef.org. Books are $12 each, or $40 for the four-book "Bundle" special, plus shipping. Special discounts are available for larger orders for ag groups.
