Tulia livestock auction reportThe Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 1,375 head Nov. 29, compared to 1,544 head two weeks ago and 1,898 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers sold steady to $5 higher on comparable sales. Feeder heifers sold mostly steady. Trade activity was moderate on moderate to good demand. Dry conditions continue across the area and is taking its toll on wheat pastures. Slaughter cows sold $1 to $3 higher. Slaughter bulls were not well tested in the previous sale. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 8%, less than 1% replacements and 92% feeders. The feeder supply included 56% steers and bulls, 44% heifers, with nearly 67% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
