Pratt livestock auction reportThe Pratt Livestock Feeder Cattle Auction , Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 3,270 head, Nov. 29, compared to 2,506 head, last week and 3,672 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last sale Nov. 15, steers at 750 to 900 pounds were $2 to $3 higher and heifers at 600 to 650 pounds were $2 higher. Heifers at 650 to 900 pounds were steady and steers at 750 pounds and under were steady, with heifers at 600 pounds and under with a lower undertone. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $2 higher. Trade was active and demand was good for yearling type cattle. Trade and demand were moderate for calves, as fleshy, bawling calves were discounted. Receipts included 71% 600 pounds and over, 18% 600 pounds and under, 12% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply was 55% steers and 45% heifers.
