San Angelo livestock auction report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported estimated receipts of 1,678 head Nov. 29, compared to 1,799 head two weeks ago and 2,135 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week feeder steers and heifers weak to $2 lower, with most decline on 500- to 700-pound heifers. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were steady. Stock cows and pairs were steady. Trading and demand were moderate. Quality was not as attractive as the last sale with an increase of Medium and large frame 2 cattle on offer. Unweaned calves and bulls continue to meet resistance. The supply included 15% slaughter cows, 2% slaughter bulls, 73% feeders, 10% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 50% steers and bulls, 15% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 500 to 550 lbs., 163.00; 625 to 650 lbs., 142.00 to 144.00; 706 lbs., 132.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 187.00 to 190.00; 445 lbs., 168.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 145.00 to 160.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 136.00 to 140.00, few 132.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 122.00 to 129.00. Medium and large frame 2, 283 lbs., 170.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 172.50 to 180.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 140.00 to 168.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 130.00 to 145.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 117.00 to 132.00; 700 to 855 lbs., 117.00 to 120.00; 904 lbs., 116.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 400 to 500 lbs., 121.00 to 133.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 122.50 to 129.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 110.00 to 119.00; 700 to 850 lbs., 99.00 to 111.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 413 lbs., 156.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 140.00 to 145.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 322 lbs., 169.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 142.00 to 146.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 128.00 to 139.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 126.00 to 138.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 112.50 to 119.00. Medium and large frame 2, 275 to 300 lbs., 134.00 to 168.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 140.00 to 160.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 128.00 to 141.00; 500 to 700 lbs., 114.00 to 128.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 105.00 to 111.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1300 to 1750 lbs., 65.00 to 71.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 900 to 1475 lbs., 73.00 to 79.50; high dressing, 79.50 to 82.50; low dressing, 69.00 to 73.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1150 lbs., 68.50 to 72.50; low dressing, 65.00 to 70.00; 85 to 90% lean, 600 to 900 lbs., 60.00 to 65.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1, 1500 to 2100 lbs., 92.00 to 95.00; high dressing, 98.50; low dressing, 1100 to 1800 lbs., 79.00 to 90.00.

Stock cows and heifers: Pregnancy tested, all sold by the head, Medium and large frame 1, 1300.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1040.00 to 1225.00. Medium and large frame 2, 860.00 to 1050.00.

Pairs: All sold by the pair. All have 100 to 350 lbs., calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1200.00 to 1400.00. Medium and large frame 2, 1100.00 to 1125.00.

Stocker and feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 800 to 1025 lbs., 92.00 to 96.00; young and middle-age, 800 to 1150 lbs., 80.00 to 87.00 cwt; middle-age, 800 to 1300 lbs., 75.00 to 81.50 cwt; thin and or aged, 800 to 1200 lbs., 65.00 to 75.50 cwt.
