The 2012 National Brahman Show was sorted by Oklahoma native, Blake Nelson on Oct. 17 and 18 in Dallas, Texas, in conjunction with the State Fair of Texas.
The National Brahman Female Show took place on Oct. 17. Haley Herzog of Robinson, Texas, took top honors in the Grey Female Show with her female, Miss CBR Viva 491/0 who was named Grand Champion. Reserve Grand Champion Grey Female was given to cow-calf pair, Miss V8 274/7 owned by V8 Ranch of Boling, Texas. Judge Nelson chose CT Lady Rhineaux Ray 8/9 owned by Circle T Cattle Company of Church Point, La. as the most elite female in the red show, selecting her as Grand Champion Red Female. Ken Ramsey Brahmans of Cat Spring, Texas earned the red division's Reserve Grand Champion honor with female KR Miss Red Sugarland 334.
Oct. 18 hosted to the National Brahman Bull Show, where bulls from Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana took the top honors. The National Champion Grey Bull, DF Mr. Snowman 91/9 owned by Dyess Farms, hailed from Carson, Miss. JDH Domino Manso 200/8 owned by J.D. Hudgins Inc., of Hungerford, Texas, was selected as the Reserve Grand Champion Bull in the grey division. The Grand Champion Red Bull, 5M King Tut 697/0 was the representative from Louisiana coming from 5M Farm's home of Ruston, La. Nelson chose Texas' Mr. HVR 0/865 owned by Happy Valley Ranch in Hallsville, Texas as the National Reserve Grand Champion Red Bull.
