Junior Hereford members win scholarships

National Junior Hereford Association members were awarded $36,000 in scholarships from the Hereford Youth Foundation of America during the American Hereford Association Annual Meeting Nov. 3 in Kansas City, Mo.

Chandler Mulvaney, Opelika, Ala., and Tyler Schultz, Haviland, Kan., were awarded $5,000 Bill and Jo Ellard Scholarships. Schultz also won the B.C. "Bud" Snidow Award sponsored by the National Hereford Women.

Keysto Stotz, Skiatook, Okla., was awarded the $5,000 Bob & Dolores Call Scholarship. Whitney Andras, Checotah, Okla., was presented the $2,500 Whitehead/Rocking Chair Ranch Scholarship and the $1,250 Gary Bishop Memorial Scholarship.

Morgann Gregory, Houstonia, Mo., was awarded the $2,500 Bob & Lucy Kube Scholarship, and Tamar Adcock, Assumption, Ill., was awarded the $1,250 Jack & Donna Vanier Scholarship.

Seely Sayre, Arenzville, Ill., was awarded the $1,250 Blin Family Scholarship, and Jaime Hanson, Comfrey, Minn., was awarded the $2,500 Owen Family/Tennessee River Music Inc. Scholarship.

Hayley Miller, Thorntown, Ind., was awarded the $2,500 Ball Foundation/Cottonwood Springs Farm Scholarship, and Bethany Nolan, Gilmer, Texas, was awarded the $1,250 Larson Polled Herefords Scholarship.

Krissi McCurdy, El Dorado, Kan., was awarded the $1,250 Bar One Scholarship, given in honor of Ken Tracy, a fellow Hereford breeder who lost his battle with cancer last year.

Four Hereford juniors were presented $1,250 HYFA scholarships, including Brady Jensen, Courtland, Kan.; Cody Jensen, Courtland, Kan.; Kathleen Ochsner, Torrington, Wyo.; and Shelby Rogers, Hamilton, Texas.
