The North American South Devon Association will award a South Devon heifer to a deserving applicant Jan. 12, 2013, at the National South Devon Show held in conjunction with the National Western Stock Show, Denver, Colo.
The South Devon Youth Experience Program is open to youth 15 to 20 years of age. To be considered for the program a completed application form, two letters of reference and a letter written by the applicant describing why they would like to be considered for the program must be submitted to the NASDA Youth Activities Committee Chairman by Dec. 15. MJB Ranch, Jim and Mary Brown, Lodge Grass, Mont., will donate the first heifer to the South Devon Youth Experience Program. The winner will work closely with the heifer donor and the NASDA Junior Committee.
The North American South Devon Association, with headquarters in Parker, Colo., is the South Devon breed's leadership voice that maintains registration records and foster's the development and promotion of South Devon cattle. The NASDA has represented the South Devon breeders across the U.S. since 1970.
