WRCA World Championship Ranch Rodeo remains in AmarilloTexas It's one of Amarillo's largest annual events. It celebrates our history and heritage. And it's going to stay here through 2015. The World Championship Ranch Rodeo, produced by the Working Ranch Cowboys Association, has signed an agreement with the Amarillo Civic Center and the Amarillo Convention & Visitor Council to produce the 2013, 2014 and 2015 rodeos in Amarillo. "This has become our city's signature event. Everything about the World Championship Ranch Rodeo reflects our core history and heritage, from cowboys to family values to great entertainment, and it is one way to step into the real Texas," Dan Quandt, executive director of the Amarillo CVC, says. "The WRCA is very happy and proud to keep this world-class event in our hometown of Amarillo. The all-under-one-roof facilities, the yearly improvements and the good friends we have made over our first 17 years in Amarillo make this a great place to be through our 20th annual championship in 2015," Mandy Morton, WRCA manager, says. The World Championship Ranch Rodeo attracts participants and spectators from around the country. The weekend represents more than $2 million in economic impact from hotels, restaurants and gas stations to feed stores, retailers and dry cleaners (yes, cowboys like crisp, starched shirts so dry cleaners often see extra business). Date: 12/10/2012
