Tulsa livestock auction report

The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa Okla., reported receipts of 3,941 head Dec. 3, compared to 2,622 head last week and 3,645 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady in a very light test. Steer calves under 450 pounds were $8 to $12 lower, over 450 pounds were steady to $4 higher. Heifer calves were steady to $8 higher, mostly $2 to $4 higher. Quality was plain to attractive. Flesh conditions were thin to fleshy. The supply included 12% over 600 pounds, with 44% heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 503 cows and bulls sold with 60% going to packers. Replacement cows sold to good demand.
