K-State to host Income Tax Institute in 8 locations

Kansas

Kansas State University will host the 63rd Annual Kansas Income Tax Institute in eight locations beginning in late October. The two-day institute is designed for anyone who wants to learn more about tax issues as they pertain to agriculture. The institute is a cooperative effort of the K-State Department of Agricultural Economics, K-State Research and Extension, the Internal Revenue Service and the Kansas Department of Revenue.

The locations and dates of the institute include:

Topeka--Oct. 26 to 27, Holiday Inn, 605 Fairlawn;

Hays--Nov. 7 to 8, Ft. Hays State University Memorial Union Ballroom, 600 Park Street;

Garden City--Nov. 8 to 9, Clarion Inn, 1911 E. Kansas Ave.;

Colby--Nov. 9 to 10, Comfort Inn, 2227 S. Range (I to 70 and Kansas Highway 25);

Olathe--Dec. 5 to 6, Holiday Inn to Olathe, 101 W. 151st Street;

Salina--Dec. 6 to 7, Ramada (former Holiday Inn), 1616 W. Crawford;

Wichita--Dec. 7 to 8, Holiday Inn Select, 549 S. Rock Road; and

Pittsburg--Dec. 14 to 15, Pittsburg State University Overman Student Center, 1701 S. Broadway.

Scheduled session titles include: New Legislation; Rulings and Cases; Individual Taxpayer Problems; AMT; Retirement; Long-Term Care; International Tax Issues; Kansas State Tax Issues (KDOR); Ethics; IRS Update; Agricultural and Rural Taxation Issues; Small Business Problems; Estate Planning for 2011-2012; Depreciation; and Partnerships.

Continuing education credits will be available. The registration fee for the full two-day institute is $245 if paid at least two weeks in advance and $270 if received later or at the door. The one-day fee is $190 if paid at least two weeks prior to the institute and $215 after that.
