K-State Swine Day set for Nov. 17Kansas Kansas State University will host Swine Day Nov. 17 at the K-State Alumni Center at 17th and Anderson Ave. in Manhattan. The cost to attend is $25 per person if paid by Nov. 10 or $35 if paid at the door. Registration includes lunch, conference materials, the ice cream reception and parking permit. K-State animal scientists will present "Current K-State Swine Research to Help Improve Net Return of a Swine Business" and veterinarians Steve Henry, Lisa Tokach and Megan Potter of the Abilene Animal Hospital will present "Failure to Thrive: The Effect of Vitamin D at Processing." Joe Kerns of Risk Assessment and Management, Ames, Iowa, will present, "Global Grain and Livestock Outlook: How it Will Impact You." A technology trade show will run throughout the day and a reception, featuring K-State ice cream, will follow the program.
