Are cedar and locust trees encroaching on your pastures? An Invasive Tree Control Field Day will be held June 16 at 9:30 a.m. near Hill City, Kan. Discussions and demonstrations will include chemical and mechanical control measures for cedar tree and locust and prairie dog control strategies. Suppliers and contractors will be on hand to demonstrate techniques and display equipment. Presentations will be given by Graham County Extension Agent Chris Petty, K-State Range Science Specialist Keith Harmony, K-State Research and Extension Range Management Specialist Walt Fick, Kansas Forest Service Forester Jim Strine, Agronomy Research Assistant Professor Carol Blocksome, K-State Research and Extension Wildlife Specialist Charlie Lee.
