The 2011 Wyoming Cattle Industry Convention & Trade Show will be held June 1 to 4 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Laramie. The convention's theme is "Opportunity for Growth" and will include presentations and discussions on issues facing the cattle industry. Though the event is hosted by the Wyoming Stock Growers Association, non-members are welcome to attend.

The convention will kick off at 6:30 p.m. on June 1 with a welcome barbecue featuring cowboy poet Chuck Larsen.

The open general session will be June 2 at 8 a.m. and will feature keynote speaker Kit Pharo of Pharo Cattle Company. Committee meetings will also be held and a reception and auction will take place that evening at the Wildcatters Club.

The annual Prayer Breakfast will be held the morning of June 3, followed by a general session that will include reports from WSGA's partner organizations. A panel on "Tools for Growth" will follow with presentations by Frank Galey, dean, UW College of Agriculture; Doug Hixon, head, Department of Animal Science; John Tanaka, head, Department of Renewable Resources; and Roger Coupal, head, Agricultural and Applied Economics.

The Awards Luncheon will take place at noon on June 3. The program that day will conclude with a banquet featuring the installation of new officers and recognition of outgoing officers. Entertainment will be provided by Davis and Mavrick.

The convention will conclude June 4 with a Roundup Breakfast, which will feature invited speakers Sens. Mike Enzi and John Barrasso, and Rep. Cynthia Lummis.

With any questions about the convention call 307-638-3942 or visit www.wysga.org to pre-register or obtain a copy of the preliminary agenda.
