Mongolia International University president visits OSU
Oh-Moon Kwon, Mongolia International University president, recently visited Oklahoma State University's campus to discuss future opportunities with OSU in Mongolia.
Kwon met with faculty and staff from the Division of International Studies and Outreach, the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and the College of Engineering.
MIU teaches all their courses in English and has a goal of educating tomorrow's global leaders as well as further educating the current leadership. MIU is an international university with the purpose to reach diverse cultures and nations.
The university campus serves not only Mongolians, but also minority groups from Russia's Siberian area (Buryatia, Tuva, Yajutia) and China (Inner Mongolia, Uygur, Tibet).
"The possibilities of a partnership with OSU and MIU opens up great opportunities for both universities," said David Henneberry, interim associate vice- president, IS&O. "Furthermore, the state of Oklahoma and Mongolia have a lot of similarities since both economies are heavily reliant on agriculture and extractive industries."
