WKMA to host Kansas Workforce SummitKansas Western Kansas Manufacturers Association is presenting the 10th Annual Kansas Workforce Summit, "Vision for a NEW KANSAS Economy," Jan. 19 and 20 at the Topeka Capitol Plaza Hotel. Governor-elect Sam Brownback and Secretary of Commerce-designee Pat George have been invited to open the Summit. The Kansas Workforce Summit is a not-to-be-missed annual forum for employers, educators, community members, chamber representatives, legislators and government officials, and local workforce board members to address the new realities facing the workforce and economic development issues in Kansas. Current registrations for the 2011 Summit include representatives from 57 cities and 14 states. Martin Hawver, editor and publisher of Hawver's Capitol Report, will set the stage with discussions surrounding the upcoming legislative session; the importance of a new administration and a new legislature, and how they will both work with a new national Congress to create a vision for a new Kansas economy.
