Walk Kansas challenge begins in MarchKansas The 10th anniversary year of the statewide Walk Kansas fitness challenge sponsored by K-State Research and Extension begins March 13 through May 7. The cost for the Finney County Walk Kansas program is $7 per person plus an additional $6 for those who would like to purchase an optional Walk Kansas T-shirt. Walk Kansas registration packets are available at the Finney County Extension office on the fairgrounds in Garden City. The deadline to register six-person teams is March 4. New this year, teams may select from two challenges: --Challenge 1: Two hours of moderate/vigorous activity per person per week. Over eight weeks, the team would log 423 miles, the distance across Kansas. --Challenge 2: Six hours of moderate/vigorous activity per person per week. Over eight weeks, the team would log 1,200 miles, the distance around the perimeter of the state. Now is the time to start forming your teams and choosing your challenge.
