Official Rules Illustrating the theme "Harvesting Thanks for Agriculture" could garner a young artist a bountiful check and the chance to be the official High Plains/Midwest Ag Journal Thanksgiving card. Whether it's with your family, at home, on the farm, in the country, or in nature--we want you to share your idea of harvesting thanks in honor of the farmers and ranchers who feed the world. The contest will run through September and entries must be postmarked no later than Sept. 30. Artist age groups include: 6 and under; 7 to 10; and 11 to 15 years old. See complete contest rules below. The grand prize winner will receive $250, and their artwork will become the official High Plains/Midwest Ag Journal Thanksgiving card. In addition, one winner will be chosen out of each age division for a prize of $100. Entry guidelines: --All entries should be postmarked on or by Sept. 30. --Include child's name, address, phone number and age on back of artwork. --Artwork should follow the "Harvesting Thanks for Agriculture" theme. --Submissions accepted only on 8 1/2- by 11-inch sheet of paper. --Any type of original artwork created by hand (no computer-generated artwork) will be accepted. Art may be pen, pencil, watercolor, crayon, marker, etc. No items should be glued to the page, including glitter. --Artwork will be judged on originality, creativity, artistic ability for age, adherence to the theme, and adherence to the rules. --There are three age categories: 6 and under; 7 to 10; and 11 to 15 years old. --All artwork becomes the property of High Plains/Midwest Ag Journal and will not be returned.
