Nebraska gets grant to improve rural care

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP)--The state of Nebraska will receive more than $700,000 to improve the quality of rural health care.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced recently that Nebraska would receive a grant of $718,983.

The grant is designed to improve the performance of rural hospitals by helping them develop collaborative plans with other health-care providers.

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius says the grants should help strengthen partnerships among rural health providers.
