Rural Development schedules Community Facilities workshopsKansas USDA Rural Development announced the agency will conduct five Community Facilities Program educational workshops this fall. The workshops will be held at five different regional locations across Kansas in September Those attending can expect to learn how USDA can finance projects of public benefit in their rural communities. Examples of successful projects include: daycare centers, hospital improvements, elder care facilities, school cafeteria improvements, fire and rescue protection, city hall improvements--the list is almost endless. Local units of government including school districts, townships, city and county government, not-for-profits, recognized Indian tribes, and citizens interested in improving the quality of life in their community should plan to attend one of these application workshops. The USDA Community Facility workshop details, including the locations and times of the sessions, are as follows: --Sept. 14, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Parsons Municipal Building Basement; registration at 9 a.m., 112 S. 17th St., Parsons.
