Rural Landowner Workshop set for Sept. 17

The Natural Resources Conservation Service will host a Rural Landowner Workshop Sept. 17 at the Cleburne Conference Center, 1501 West Henderson, Cleburne, Texas.

Registration will be held from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., and the cost is $10 per person. Presentations will include: Benefits of a Conservation Plan; Inventorying and Analyzing Your Resources; Soils (Web Soil Survey); Intro to Plants ; Land Use Specific Inventory; Rangeland Resources; Crop and Pasture Resources; Riparian Areas; Wildlife Resources; Livestock Resources; Formulating Alternatives and Making Decisions; Crop and Pasture--Nutrient and Pest Management; Rangeland--Setting Proper Stocking Rate;s Wildlife Options; Engineering Considerations;-NRCS Financial Assistance Programs; Ag Tax Evaluation; and Q&A.

Sponsors include USDA-NRCS, Blackland Prairie GLCI, Bluebonnet RC&D, Texas AgriLife Extension, Johnson County Farm Bureau, and Johnson County SWCD.
