Shorthorn Juniors exhibit at Keystone

The 2010 Atlantic Junior Major PACE show held at the Keystone International Livestock Exposition

Junior Shorthorn exhibitors confidently exhibited one of the strongest lineups at the Keystone International Livestock Exposition Junior Major PACE show held Oct. 3. Thirty-six females and three bulls made their way into the ring to be evaluated by Bobby Singleton, Hereford breeder from Gallatin, Tenn.

Jared Boyert of Seville, Ohio, was awarded grand champion female honors with MDM Cumberland 908 Ton X, which was the junior champion division female. This March 28, 2009, born female was sired by Ar Su Lu Tonic X. Following with the reserve champion female honors was Sull Mona Lisa Love ET, owned by Lacey Murray of Garrett, Penn. Murray's female was born March 18, 2009, and claimed reserve junior champion division female.

The April 17, 2010 bull calf, KSC Jazz Patty O K18, owned by Cory Krietz of Keymar, Md., captured the grand champion bull honors. Krietz's bull calf is sired by Jake's Proud Jazz 266L. Reserve champion bull went to Gold City, owned by Emily Bomgardner of Annville, Penn. The Feb. 15, 2010, bull calf is sired by AF SL Sin City ET.

The first KILE ShorthornPlus junior show followed with nine females. Grand champion female went to Sull Miss Blue Blooded Et, owned by Owen Weikert of Gettysburg, Penn. The April 14, 2009, born female is sired by Sull Blue Blood and also claimed the intermediate division. Reserve champion female and reserve intermediate division champion female went to SMSC Blue Nan, owned by Kurt Fleener of Robesonia, Penn. The March 8, 2009, female is sired by DCC Smokin Joe.
