Energize Missouri Agriculture offers cost-share programMissouri In June 2009, the Department of Energy approved Missouri's application under the U.S. Department of Energy's State Energy Program for $57,393,000 in Recovery Act funding for energy efficiency and renewable energy programs. In an effort to help farmers move toward more energy efficient and profitable operations, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Division of Energy will use a portion of the Recovery Act funding to develop a $3 million energy efficiency cost-share grant program under Energize Missouri Agriculture. The purpose of this request for information is to serve as a sign-up for participation in the Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Energize Missouri Agriculture cost-share program. Request for information forms will be received by the department's Division of Energy until April 20. All forms will be reviewed by a technical review committee, and farm operators will be notified if their projects are selected for funding. Contracts will be offered at that time. To apply for Energize Missouri Agriculture cost-share grants: --Fill out an application form, either paper application form or electronic application form online, which is preferred by the department. --Forms will be received by the department's Division of Energy until April 20. --A Technical Review Committee will review all forms. --Farm operators will be notified after the review if their projects are selected for funding. The program offers cost-share grants to farm operators (owners or renters). Some farms are divided into multiple "tax units." Each individual tax unit that owns part of a farm unit is eligible for a cost-share grant, but the units must be owned by different individuals. A farm is defined as any place from which $1,000 or more of agricultural products were produced and sold, or normally would have been sold during the year. Eligible items include purchased energy efficient equipment and hardware. Time and labor is not eligible for cost-share reimbursement. There is a $5,000 cap per individual tax entity. Transfer of ownership of equipment before five years will require the Division of Energy's approval, or reimbursement to the Department of Natural Resources. Employees of the Department of Natural Resources, their immediate families and public entities are not eligible. Equipment purchased prior to signing a contract is not eligible.
