Officials plan directory update

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP)--The Nebraska Department of Agriculture is trying to update its directory of breeding stock and production animals for sale across the state but needs some help.

Alpacas, bison, emu, goats, horses and game birds are among those included in the state's diversified livestock directory. Agriculture officials say the directory is a way diversified producers can gain marketing exposure for their breeding and production stock.

There's no charge to be included in the directory. Producers are encouraged to fill out a profile form, which are available at www.agr.ne.gov. Forms also are available by calling 800-422-6692.

Profile forms should be turned in by March 1.
