Focus on Forages II meeting is July 27

Missouri

The University of Missouri Extension will present "Focus on Forages II" July 27 at 6 p.m. at the Hundley-Whaley Learning Discovery Center in Albany, Mo.

The following topics will be covered at the meeting:

--Hi-Tech Forage Yield Estimation, hands-on demonstration of the "Feed Reader";

--Tour of Fescue and Legume Plots, walk through plot tour, economics of legumes versus nitrogen;

--Improving/Preserving Hay Quality, ammoniating hay, using forage preservatives;

--New Fescue Variety, Kentucky 31 versus Baroptima;

Door prizes will also be given away. Cost to attend is $15, which includes dinner and copies of presentations. If you are planning to attend, please RSVP to the Gentry County Extension Office at 660-726-5610.
