Nebraska officials to pitch ag products in AsiaLINCOLN, Neb. (AP)--The Nebraska Department of Agriculture will lead a trade mission to Hong Kong and Taiwan in August and is seeking companies and individuals interested in being part of the delegation. Gov. Dave Heineman, who is not going, announced the trip on July 7. He says Taiwan and Hong Kong have strongly indicated their interest in Nebraska agricultural products. A 2007 trade mission resulted in deals to buy beef, corn, soybeans and wheat. Also, there is a marketing scheme in which Nebraska beef is advertised and sold in amusement parks and restaurants in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Hong Kong is Nebraska's fifth-largest trading partner and Taiwan is sixth-largest.
