Commercial wind farm starts in Wyoming county

CASPER, Wyo. (AP)--The first wind farm in Natrona County has powered up.

Chevron Global Power Co., says the wind farm north of Evansville started Dec. 14 with 11 turbines.

The company says the 880-acre wind farm can produce enough power to supply 4,400 average-size homes with power. The system will tie into existing high power transmission lines.

Construction on the wind farm began in June.
