MGGA offers business management course for Montana farm womenMontana Annie's Project, a nationally recognized program designed to empower farm and ranch women to become better business managers, operators and partners in agriculture, is coming back to Montana in January. Four sessions will be held beginning Jan. 11, in nine locations: Baker, Billings, Bozeman, Cut Bank, Great Falls, Havre, Lewistown, Miles City, and Wolf Point. "Over 200 farm and ranch women participated in Annie's Project 2008," said Loree Morgan, program coordinator. "That interest and enthusiasm indicates a real need for this kind of education and we are targeting the topics this time to those most requested by previous attendees." The program will be delivered in a series of four workshops that will combine lecture, discussion, hands-on computer work, and audio/visual support along with a group meal for socializing and networking with peers. Dates and topics: Jan 11, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Beginning Marketing; Jan 16, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Records Management; Jan 23, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Estate/Transition Planning; Jan 25, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Advanced Marketing. Registration is $100 and includes meals and all supplies necessary for the program. Spouses are invited to attend the final two sessions on estate/transition planning and advanced marketing.
