Oklahoma Wheat Growers set annual convention Dec. 12

The Oklahoma Wheat Growers Association annual convention will be held Dec. 12 at the Express Event Center in Oklahoma City. The address is 8512 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, Okla. The meeting will begin with coffee and Oklahoma Wheat Commission cinnamon rolls at 8:30 a.m. The program will start at 9 a.m., with Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Terry Peach.
Other speakers include John Odes, vice president U.S. Wheat, Portland Office; Dr. Brett Carver, OSU wheat breeder; Dr. Bob Hunger, OSU Extension disease specialist; Mark Hodges, executive director, Oklahoma Genetics Incorporated; Tom McCreight, CEO Equity Marketing Alliance; and Wayne Hurst, 2nd vice president, National Association of Wheat Growers. Congressman Frank Lucas, Ranking Member House Ag Committee, is confirmed to speak at lunch.
Also the Oklahoma Wheat Growers Association will be conducting the annual business session and Oklahoma Wheat Commission Executive Director Mike Schulte will be presenting a report on the past year's activities of the Commission. A free steak dinner will be severed at lunch. There will also be a trade show during the convention.
