NRCS State Technical Committee to meet Nov. 19 in Huron

The Natural Resources Conservation Service will hold their regularly scheduled session of the State Technical Committee Nov. 199, at the Crossroads Hotel and Convention Center, Huron, S.D. The meeting is open to the public and will begin at 10 a.m. The STC serves as an advisor to the NRCS State Conservationist.

The tentative agenda for the meeting will include a 2008 farm bill programs update. These programs include the Environmental Quality Incentives Program, Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program, Wetlands Reserve Program, Grasslands Reserve Program, Farm and Ranch Land Protection Program, and Conservation Stewardship Program. Other topics of discussion include the Conservation Reserve Program and the Nutrient Management Standard (590) proposed national changes.
