Presho livestock sales report

The Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 4,046 head Jan. 28, compared to 2,381 head last week and 3,770 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers sold $3 to $5 higher. Feeder heifers sold steady to $1 higher. Numerous potloads and part loads on offer. The offering included 71% of run was steers, 29% was heifers, with 65% of feeders were 600 pounds and over.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 458 to 476 lbs., 119.50 to 127.00 (125.74); 14 head, 500 lbs., 123.00; 556 to 598 lbs., 111.50 to 117.00 (113.86); 600 to 645 lbs., 105.75 to 111.10 (109.47) calves; 653 to 684 lbs., 104.25 to 110.90 (107.48) calves; 701 to 735 lbs., 96.00 to 103.00 (100.30) calves; 753 to 794 lbs., 95.10 to 97.25 (96.19) calves; 66 head, 835 lbs., 95.10; 8 head, 878 lbs., 87.25; 11 head, 986 lbs., 85.35. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 516 to 543 lbs., 108.25 to 113.50 (111.38); 578 to 582 lbs., 108.25 to 110.00 (109.06); 669 to 682 lbs., 100.75 to 102.25 (101.00) calves; 19 head, 711 lbs., 94.00 calves.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 16 head, 403 to 441 lbs., 105.50 to 110.00 (107.93); 501 to 546 lbs., 100.00 to 107.75 (105.60); 65 head, 529 lbs., 110.00 replacement; 551 to 591 lbs., 99.50 to 107.50 (102.68); 618 to 645 lbs., 95.75 to 97.00 (96.02) calves; 66 head, 638 lbs., 102.00 fancy; 87 head, 616 lbs., 101.00 replacement; 661 to 695 lbs., 94.60 to 95.25 (95.07) calves; 708 to 744 lbs., 89.00 to 94.60 (92.66) calves; 14 head, 756 lbs., 86.25 calves; 17 head, 896 lbs., 80.25.
