Pratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts 3,831 head Jan. 28, compared to 3,450 head last week and 1,614 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, feeder steers 400 to 700 pounds was steady to $2 higher, 700 to 900 pounds was steady to $2 lower, most of the weakness on fleshy cattle. Heifers 400 to 650 pounds was steady to soft, 650 to 850 pounds was steady. Slaughter cows was steady to $5 higher. Slaughter bulls were $2 higher in a light test. Trade and demand was good. Receipts included 84% 600 pounds and over, 13% 600 pounds and under, and 3% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply consisted of 53% steers and 47% heifer.
