Woodward livestock sales report
The Woodward Livestock Market, Woodward, Okla., reported receipts of 1,706 head Jan. 29, compared to 7,570 head last week and 3,010 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, limited receipts due to snow and ice in the trade area for a true market test. Feeder steers and heifers were steady to $2 lower. No test on steer and heifer calves. Demand was moderate to good for all classes. Fill was average to gaunt. The supply included 90% over 600 pounds, 39% heifers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 518 lbs., 110.00; 21 head, 593 lbs., 104.00; 657 to 689 lbs., 97.00 to 98.00 (97.28); 714 to 749 lbs., 95.00 to 95.85 (95.36); 759 to 789 lbs., 94.00 to 95.85 (94.69); 803 to 839 lbs., 93.00 to 94.50 (93.97); 850 to 887 lbs., 92.00 to 94.25 (92.91); 906 to 947 lbs., 91.00 to 91.60 (91.39); 17 head, 979 lbs., 89.85; 6 head, 1012 lbs., 87.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 760 to 797 lbs., 93.25 to 93.85 (93.35); 802 to 847 lbs., 92.50 to 94.00 (93.54). Medium and large frame 2, 37 head, 783 lbs., 93.10.
