Faith livestock sales reportThe Faith Livestock Commission Co., Faith, S.D., reported receipts of 306 head Feb. 1, compared to 1,073 head two weeks ago, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers too lightly tested to trend. However, a steady undertone was noted on all classes. Slaughter cows and bulls sold mostly steady in a very limited test. Demand was moderate to good for all classes. The supply consisted of 75% feeder cattle and the balance slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder cattle supply included 90% steers, 10% heifers, with 78% weighing over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 495 lbs., 117.25; 507 to 529 lbs., 116.00 to 119.00 (117.83); 49 head, 639 lbs., 105.50 calves; 770 to 787 lbs., 95.75 to 97.35 (96.51). Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 439 lbs., 107.00; 8 head, 475 lbs., 104.00; 9 head, 527 lbs., 102.00. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1285 to 1555 lbs., 47.00 to 50.75. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1250 to 1530 lbs., 47.25 to 50.75; high dressing, 51.25. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1200 to 1435 lbs., 46.00 to 48.00; low dressing, 43.00. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1595 to 1900 lbs., 60.00 to 63.00; low dressing, 57.50 to 59.00.
