Ericson livestock auction report
The Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 4,884 head Jan. 30, compared to 1,740 ahead last week, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared with two weeks ago, steer offerings traded $2 to $3 higher with the exception of 500 to 550 pound offerings trading as much as $10 higher. Heifers traded $3 to $6 higher. Demand was very good and trade active. Receipts consisted of 68% steers, 38% heifers, with 52% weighing over 600 pounds.
