MU cultivar wine workshops set for Feb. 22, March 1Missouri Two cultivar wine evaluation workshops are set for Feb. 22 and March 1 at the University of Missouri. "The purpose of these workshops is to evaluate experimental wines produced from new cultivars grown in Missouri and surrounding regions," said Andy Allen, viticulturist with the MU Institute for Continental Climate Viticulture and Enology. "Several new cultivar wines made at our research winery will be presented for tasting, as well as those from our Chardenel vineyard mechanization experiment," he said. About 25 to 30 wines will be included in the tasting. The workshops will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in 154 Eckles Hall-Stringer Wing on the MU campus. Registration is $40 for in-state and $50 for out-of-state residents. The fee includes a catered lunch and handout material. Participants must be at least 21 years old. Registration is limited to 80 participants per workshop. Registration deadline is Feb. 15. Registration after that will be assessed a late fee of $10. A printable registration form is available at iccve.missouri.edu. For more information, call Jackie Harris at 573-882-8802.
