Biologists check report of wolf pack in ColoradoDENVER (AP)--Biologists working with the owner of a western Colorado ranch are trying to determine if a pack of wolves has settled there. Biologists consulting for the High Lonesome Ranch north of De Beque, about 200 miles west of Denver, say they have seen signs of wolves. They sent animal droppings for DNA tests to the University of California-Los Angeles. Colorado Division of Wildlife spokesman Randy Hampton says state officials are talking to the ranch, which offers hunting and fishing excursions, about the reports of wolves. Federal officials say they haven't seen evidence yet of a pack taking up residence. Wolves were eradicated from Colorado by the 1930s, but at least two from the Yellowstone National Park area have wandered into the state since 2004.
