Goldthwaite sheep sales reportThe Mills County Commission Co., Golthwaite, Texas, Sept. 18, reported receipts of 2,545 head of sheep and goats, compared to 1,936 head last week and 1,893 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stock and feeder lambs were not tested. Light slaughter lambs were $5 to $10 higher, heavy weights $3 to $5 higher. Stock and feeder goats were $3 to $5 higher. Slaughter goats were $3 to $5 higher. Demand was good. The supply included around 40% sheep including nearly 500 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 80 to 125 lbs., 42.00 to 60.00. Barbados ewes, 70 to 100 lbs., 35.00 to 46.00. Barbados bucks, 170.00 to 300.00 per head. Stock bucks, 135 to 165 lbs., 60.00.
