Fall fun close to homeColorado Fall is the perfect time of year to experience Colorado agricultural activities such as corn mazes and pumpkin patches. To help people explore agritourism in the state, the Colorado Department of Agriculture lists a variety of seasonal activities online at www.coloradoagritourism.com. "At a time when money is tight, families are looking for fun fall activities close to home," said Wendy White, marketing specialist for the Colorado Department of Agriculture. "You don't have to travel far to experience local agriculture." Online resources include a list featuring corn mazes across the state as well as harvest festivals and pumpkin patches. The site also lists wineries, farmers' markets, bird watching trails, agricultural festivals, dude ranches and more. According to a survey conducted by Colorado State University in conjunction with the Colorado Department of Agriculture, 13.2 million visitors experienced Colorado agritourism in 2006, contributing $2.2 billion to the state economy.
