Texhoma FFA attends leadership camp

Oklahoma

The Texhoma FFA Chapter went to the 38th annual Oklahoma FFA Alumni Leadership Camp at Camp Tulakogee near Wagoner, Okla. More than 1,500 FFA members from all across Oklahoma were registered to attend one of four, three and one-half day sessions, June 27 to July 10, including: Ryan Dahl, Nick James, Patton Pugh, Randall Pugh, Britni Reust, Davante Brown, Alan Burdge, and Jacob Murphy.

This year's camp engaged campers in fun-filled, action-packed activities that focused on teamwork, exhibiting a positive attitude, character building, citizenship and a motivated chapter officer team.

Special presenters include motivational speakers Bill Cordes, Sam Glenn and, veterinarian turned hypnotist, Dr. Al Snyder.

Local families, friends and community supporters purchase FFA Alumni memberships to finance the FFA member's participation in the leadership camp, sponsored by the Oklahoma FFA Alumni Association, the Oklahoma Ford Dealers, Sonic--America's Drive-In and Dr. Pepper.

FFA leadership camp is planned and conducted by the 2009-2010 state FFA officer team. They include: Amy Peel, president, Wetumka; McKenzie Clifton, secretary, Kingfisher; Tara Burchfield, reporter, Fairview; Kelli Shenold, central vice president, Ripley; Josh Goff, northwest vice president, Broken Bow; and Robby Branscum, northeast vice president, Fort Gibson.
