CHS Foundation awards $5,000 grant to OALE ProgramOklahoma The Oklahoma Youth Expo was recently awarded a grant in the amount of $5,000 from The CHS Foundation, the major giving entity for CHS Incorporated. "One of the primary goals of the Oklahoma Youth Expo Board of Directors is to develop young people into proficient leaders for the agricultural industry. The generous contribution of the CHS Foundation is an important step in achieving this objective," said Jeramy Rich, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Youth Expo. "It is fitting that the CHS Foundation and the Oklahoma Youth Expo join together on this mission, as both organizations focus heavily on securing the future of agriculture and rural America." The CHS Foundation Grant will provide further opportunities to students of the Oklahoma Agricultural Leadership Encounter, a program created by the Oklahoma Youth Expo and designed to build strong proponents of agriculture through a vast array of experiences within the industry. Members of the Oklahoma Agricultural Leadership Encounter are given an inside look at agriculture throughout the state of Oklahoma and the nation, as well as internationally. One of the primary focuses of the program is to expand the knowledge of all levels of government and their relationship with, and affects on, the agricultural industry and rural America. The CHS Foundation (www.chsfoundation.org) is the major giving entity of CHS Inc. (www.chsinc.com). As a part of the CHS stewardship focus, the CHS Foundation is committed to investing in the future of rural America, agriculture and cooperative business through education and leadership development. The Oklahoma Youth Expo is "The World's Largest Junior Livestock Show" and offers a variety of opportunities to the state's agricultural youth. This program's main event is held each year in March at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds, and 2010 marks the 96th year of existence for the spring livestock show. The 2010 Oklahoma Youth Expo will take place March 12-22 and will distribute in excess of $1 million in scholarships and awards to Oklahoma students.
