Dodge City cattle sales reportDodge City Winter Livestock, Inc., reported receipts of 3,288 head, Oct. 21, compared to 1,788 head, last week and 1,890 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers at 300 to 700 pounds were steady to $1 higher, 700 to 1,000 pounds were steady to $2 lower. Heifers 300 to 700 pounds were steady to $3 higher, 700 to 800 pounds on light comparable sales, firm. Slaughter cows were weak to $1 lower. There were no comparable sales of slaughter bulls last week, but a steady undertone was noted. Trade and demand were moderate. Receipts included 72% over 600 pounds, 23% under 600 pounds and 5% slaughter cows and bulls with 181 early. The feeder supply consisted of 62% steers and 38% heifers.
